Two held for daylight murder in Hyderabad

The suspects had attacked the victim as he had refused to maintain his kids.

Hyderabad: Six days day after a 37-year-old man was stabbed to death in full public view at First Lancer in Humayun Nagar, police arrested the victim’s brother-in-law and his friend in connection with the case. The suspects had attacked the victim as he had refused to maintain his kids. The suspects are Md. Raheem, the victim's brother-in-law, and Md. Nayeem. The duo attacked Ateeq Qureshi with knives, police said. They stabbed him several times and he died on the spot.

Police said that Ateeq’s wife had passed away five years ago and his three kids were staying with his wife’s relatives. Atheeq had gone to Maharashtra and other parts of the country ignoring his kids. When he came back, his brother-in-law came to know that he had married another woman. “On Monday, Raheem picked up a fight with Ateeq. Ateeq tried to escape. However, Raheem and Nayeem followed him and stabbed him inside a barber shop,” said a police official.
