Hyderabad: Mystery photo of vodka, ganja as Mercedes hits BMW
Hyderabad: A speeding Mercedes Benz car rammed into a morning walker’s parked BMW on Jubilee Hills Road Number 1 on Saturday morning. Photographs taken by a morning walker showed a packet of marijuana and a bottle of vodka inside the Mercedes. But, police did not mention the vodka bottle in the FIR and ignored the presence of narcotic drugs in the car. Police booked a case against a person named M. Ragavendra Reddy, a driver, who works for a private firm named ‘Bar Estate’.
However, it is suspected that the police has allowed the real suspect, a businessman’s son, to go and booked the driver instead. The police also gave conflicting versions regarding the accident. “There was a vodka bottle in the car, but when the police checked the driver was found sober,” a police official said. Although the photograph showed a packet of marijuana inside the car, Jubilee Hills inspector S. Venkat Reddy said, “We have not found any marijuana or any other narcotic substance in the vehicle.” Many morning walkers said the car was speeding, and was probably being driven by a drunk driver.
They said a sober driver is highly unlikely to ram the vehicle into a parked car, which was visible from 100 metres away. The mishap occurred when a businessman named M. Anil Kumar Reddy, 57, parked his BMW car on the main road to go jogging. “The speeding Merc-edes came from the rear and hit the BMW causing heavy damage,” said a police official from Jubilee Hills. Following a complaint from Anil Kumar Reddy police booked a case.
