Krishnagiri: A 38- year-old married man who is also the father of three children was arrested for rape under the POSCO Act for allegedly impregnating a 17-year-old college girl.
The man was arrested on Thursday night following a complaint given by the girl's mother in the police station at Kallavi near Uthangarai of Krishnagiri. The lady said that her minor daughter was impregnated by a married man of her village who is also the father of three children. This incident came to light after the girl developed fits in the government bus she was travelling with her mother a few days ago.
After this incident in the bus, she was taken to the Uthangarai government hospital by her mother. Doctors referred her to another government hospital in Krishnagiri, where the girl gave birth to a stillborn male baby.
When questioned, the hapless girl told her mother that she had become pregnant because of her relationship with a married man of her village who had promised to marry her.Kallavi police arrested the man under the POCSO Act.
