Telangana: Realtor booked for land fraud
Hyderabad: A realtor cheated a private sector employee under the pretext of selling him an open plot at Ghatkesar for around Rs 20 lakh. The victim, however, verified the land details online and found that the land was already sold to another person. The victim, K. Subramanyeswara Rao, approached the police after which a case was registered against the accused P. Lingaiah.
Subramanyeswa Rao, a resident of Saroornagar, stated in his complaint that while he was searching for a plot, he came across Lingaiah, who showed him an agreement of sale of a plot owned by Chencharapu Mamatha and Keesara Narasimha Reddy, and stated that he was planning to sell the plots. The victim agreed to buy the plot for Rs 21 lakh and signed an agreement in September 2009 and paid Rs 12.6 lakh to Lingaiah. He paid Lingaiah another Rs 8 lakh to proceed with the land registration.
After collecting the money, Ling-aiah started delaying the process by citing unavailability of owners. Later, the victim found that the owners had already sold the plot, wh-ich was brokered by Lingaiah. The police is looking for Lingaiah who is on the run.
