Man arrested for possessing an unlicensed fire arm
Hyderabad: Employees of a chemicals manufacturing unit found an unlicensed firearm in the locker of an outsourcing production manager, M. Anand, in Nandigama of Rangareddy district. The weapon was found when the employees were shifting the locker.
Police upon getting a complaint went to the unit and arrested Anand. He claimed that he had found the weapon two years ago in Shadnagar and had kept it. Nandigama inspector N. Suresh said.
Police said Anand, a native of Guntur, had had no criminal record. The weapon appeared to be a .32 calibre country-made pistol with wooden grips. The pistol had rusted and its chamber was empty. Police has sent the weapon for forensic examination.
