Hyderabad: Two persons who were manufacturing synthetic drugs like Methamphetamine and Amphetamine (NDPS) in LB Nagar were arrested by the Special Operation Team.
The police seized 32 gm Amphetamine and other drugs worth '1.3 lakh on Saturday. The police have identifed the accused as A. Ramesh, 38, and R. Rambabu, 46, residents of Meerpet.
Ramesh worked as a quality controller in labs and presently supplies raw materials like ephedrine hydrochloride for preparation of amphetamine, methamphetamine.
According to the Special Operations Team sleuths from Rachakonda and LB Nagar, they nabbed two people manufacturing synthetic drugs by using ephedrine hydrochloride, acetone and Hydrochloride Acid. Acting on a tip off, the sleuths raided the manufacturing unit-cum-residence at Alekhya Towers and seized 32 gm of amphetamine.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, LB Nagar, Sunpreet Singh, said, “Ramesh confessed that he was manufacturing synthetic drugs and and packing them into small covers by concealing them in papers.”
