Mini-truck falls off Yeshwantpur flyover, 3 injured

The driver, Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly speeding and lost control over the vehicle.

BENGALURU: Three people sustained injuries when a mini truck transporting fowls to the city from Andhra Pradesh fell off the Yeshwantpur flyover on Friday morning. Hundreds of fowls perished in the incident.

The driver, Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly speeding and lost control over the vehicle. It rammed into the safety wall of Yeshwantpur flyover, before falling off.

The vehicle was coming from Kurnool and bound for Shivajinagar. Shabir was accompanied by his friends Ibrahim and Altaf, both from Belagavi. Police said the trio sustained injuries and have been hospitalized. Ibrahim’s condition is said to be serious.

They used to transport fowls to the city on a regular basis, police added.
