Kerala: Two more held for abducting businessman
Kochi: Two more persons connected with the abduction of businessman in which Maradu municipal vice chairperson Antony Ashanparambil is the first accused has been arrested on Thursday even as the first accused remained at large. The police has identified the arrested as Mohammad Kutty 47, son of Mekkattuparambil Veetil Abdul Rehman and Sanmayanandan 46, sone of Mookkathparasmbu Krishnan Kutty. The duo is the 11th and 12th accused in the case. According to the police Sanmayanandan has facilitated to use his rented house to be used as the other accused to bring the abducted businessman.
The 11th accused Mohammad Kutty, known as Mammooty, arrested on Thursday was a member of the gang that involved in abducting the businessman and forcibly confining him to the residence of Sanmaanandan. Mammooty, a bus owner, is also having close connection with the Goonda-Mafia gang at Nettoor. Antony Ashanprambil, the vice chairman of the Maradu Municipality and Jinson Peter, a councilor in the same local body are the first and second accused in the case. Both have been absconding for the past few days following the police filing the case against them. The anticipatory bail application moved by the two is currently before a local court.
