Headless bodies of women found in West Bengal, 'black magic' suspected

The police are investigating whether the tantrik's material is a ruse by the murderer to put them on a wrong scent.

Kolkata: Headless bodies of two young women were found in Bengal's East Midnapore district on Saturday, leading police to suspect that a ‘tantrik’ may be responsible for the murders.

According to a report in NDTV, a tantrik is suspected because flowers, incense and vermillion were found near one of the bodies. However, no such material was found next to the other body, which had been thrown into some bushes.

The police are investigating if there is any connection between the two deaths. The identity of the two women has also not been established, and the police are on the lookout for the decapitated heads.

The matter came to light when the body of an 18-year-old woman was found in a betel leaf farm in the Tamluk police station area. Two hours later, the body of a second woman was found in the Nandigram police station area, around 60 km away.

The police are investigating whether the tantrik’s material is a ruse by the murderer to put them on a wrong scent. They are also checking if the women were murdered nearby or killed elsewhere and dumped at the two locations.

There is one difference between the two murders, said the report. The Tamluk victim appears to have been killed just hours before her body was found. The Nandigram victim may have been dead for about 48 hours before she was discovered.
