Attack on cop: BJP leader's son held

The four friends had gone to Vikina Bar in Malleswaram 6th Block on Saturday night.

Bengaluru: Four youth, including the son of a BJP leader, were arrested by the Malleswaram police, after they allegedly assaulted a police constable who intervened after they created a ruckus at a bar on Saturday night.

The arrested are Karl Marx, 21, son of General Secretary of BJP SC/ST Morcha Chi. Na. Ramu, his friends Keshav, Shreyas and Chethan, all around 20 years old and Malleswaram residents. The four friends had gone to Vikina Bar in Malleswaram 6th Block on Saturday night. While leaving there was a fight between Marx and the cashier.

As they started quarreling with the staff, the police were informed. Umesh, a constable attached to Malleswaram station, along with home guard Rudhesh, reached the spot.

When Umesh told the four to leave and allegedly pushed Marx, the latter allegedly snatched his lathi and assaulted him. “The Home Guard alerted the Hoysala patrolling staff, who rushed and took the four into custody,” the police said.
