Woman loses bag with costly goods at Shamshabad airport
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old housewife from Hyderabad, who landed at the Shamshabad airport, lost her handbag containing articles worth Rs 15 lakh. Shravya forgot to collect her bag from the luggage trolley in the parking lot and realised that her bag was missing only after reaching home. Police said Shravya, hailing from Hyderabad, was living in Qatar along with husband Vasu, a software engineer. Their daughter is staying with grandparents in Hyderabad.
Early on Friday she landed at the RGI Airport in a Qatar Airways flight and checked out with baggage. She said she had put her baggage in a trolley and hanged the handbag containing jewellery and cash on its handle. After she came out she shifted her baggage into a car and drove away. When she reached home she realised that her handbag was missing and immediately drove back to the airport and filed a complaint with RGIA police.
“We found the handbag in the parking area but it was empty. Around 60 tolas of gold and Rs 35,000 in the bag were missing,” RGIA additional inspector D. Shankaraiah said, adding that they were checking with airport security personnel. Police said there were no CCTV cameras in the parking area and is difficult to trace suspects. A case was registered.
