Indore Man Opens Fire Over Pet Dogs' Fight, Kills Two, Injures Six

Two people were killed and another six were injured on Thursday night in Krishnabagh Colony under Khajrana police station in Indore city when the accused identified as Rajpal Rajawat opened fire on them.

According to police, an altercation over the fight between accused and victims' pet dogs during the evening walk, allegedly triggered this act of aggression. Rajpal Rajawat works as a security guard in the local branch of Bank of Baroda and stays in the Krishnabagh Colony area. The victims are his neighbors.

On Thursday night the accused had taken his dog out for a walk in the colony. During the walk, his dog got into a fight with another dog belonging to one of his neighbours and an altercation broke out between the two dog owners over this.

Very soon this altercation took such an ugly turn that Rajpal stormed into his house, took out his double barrel 12 bore licensed gun, went to the roof of his house and fired two rounds in the air.

After this, he started firing on people on the road below which included the owner of the other dog with whom he had the altercation.

In this indiscriminate firing, two people were killed and six people were injured who are currently under treatment. The deceased are identified as Vimal, aged 35 years and Rahul Verma, aged 28 years.

The accused has been taken in police custody and his gun has been seized by the police.

According to police, the prima facie reason behind the shootout seems to be the altercation between the accused and victims over dogfight and there was no prior enmity between the two parties involved. Further investigations are underway.
