Advocate vs advocate in case of rape, sex pics, blackmail, marriage, betrayal

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old advocate of Hyderabad has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman advocate and blackmailing her into yielding sexual favours.

The arrest was made by police of the Saroornagar precinct on the basis of a complaint lodged by the woman, who said she had entered into a cohabitation arrangement despite blackmail by him as she was promised marriage.

The Saroornagar named the 50-year-old accused and said he was an advocate who lived in Lingojiguda in Saroornagar. He first became acquainted with the woman, then a law student, in 2011. In 2015, four years later, he raped the woman in his office after sedating her with a drug mixed in biryani.

He allegedly took pictures of his sexual act and began to blackmail the woman. The woman advocate claimed she gave in under duress and cohabited with the man until 2019, believing his promises of marriage. However, he abandoned her.

About a week ago, he allegedly began sending her messages again. This time she went to the police and they arrested him and produced him in court. The man has been remanded in judicial remand.

Police said the man has a history of cases of misbehaviour with women.
