Hyderabad: Robbery gang from Maharashtra busted
Hyderabad: The police has busted a Maharashtra-based gang of robbers who robbed three people in Secunderabad and Begum Bazaar last month. Police said the gangsters used to walk by the side of the victims with heavy bags blocking rear view, while another snatches the cash bag from behind and runs.
Police arrested six men using CCTV footages. In the first case, the gang snatched a cash bag containing Rs 25,000 from a trader named J.V.R. Sharma under the railway bridge near the Secunderabad railway station. They also robbed another man and escaped with Rs 10,000. Police said all the robberies took place in broad daylight.
Police said around nine gangsters had come to the city for robberies. Police arrested five of them while they were preparing for another robbery near the Secunderabad railway station. Three people escaped and are still at large.
"The gang is from Thane district and had committed similar robberies in Maharashtra also," said a senior police official.
Police say the suspects executed their robberies well. "Seconds after robbing they flee via different ways and gather at another place by communicating over the phone to share the booty," said an officer.
