Hyderabad: Five arrested, ganja seized
Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force arrested five people while they were transporting ganja in an autorickshaw at Tappachabutra. Police recovered 53 kg ganja from them.
Police said the main accused Ahmed Faraz, a conductor with MTR Express Private Travels, Lakdikapool, got the ganja from his friends Gagan and Munna, who were trying to smuggle it to Mumbai.
“Gagan and Munna, who are now absconding, had procured 53 kg ganja from their sources, and were trying to take it to Mumbai. They asked Faraz to book a ticket for them on an MTR Express bus to Mumbai. When they brought the ganja bags to Miyapur, from where they were supposed to board the bus, Faraz told them that he will not allow them to keep the drugs in the bus as the quantity was huge. They then decided to sell it,” said a senior police official.
“Faraz promised to help them in selling the drugs. He called four of his friends and were taking it in an autorickshaw when we arrested them,” said the police official.
