11 injured in two-day long clash at wedding
KAKINADA: Clashes between relatives of a bride groom and the bride spread over two days left 11 people injured at Sriramapuram village in Rajanagaram mandal of East Godavari district.
According to Korukonda circle inspector P. Pawan Kumar Reddy, the clash started at the dinner being served at the bride’s place on Monday. It started with banter in which one party provoked another.
On Tuesday too, the two parties clashed while celebrating the solemnisation of the marriage at Bobbarlanka village in Seethanagaram mandal.
On both the days, total 11 persons received injuries which required treatment at the government hospital in Rajamahendravaram. Four persons, who have been seriously injured, have been admitted to the government hospital.
The circle inspector said the injured are out of danger. A police beat has been stationed at Bobbilanka village, so that clashes do not recur again.
