Bengaluru: Four men on bikes robbed and repeatedly stabbed Kinkar Thakur, a software engineer and fled with his gold ornaments, wallet and ATM card in Attibele, Bengaluru on Tuesday night.
After stabbing him multiple times, they replaced his blood-soaked shirt with a fresh one, as they wanted to avoid unwanted attention.
Thakur was looking for an autorickshaw near Lakshmikunte temple when the men attacked him and robbed him of his ATM card, wallet, gold chain and ring as reported by the Times Of India.
They even forced him to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM kiosk but it had run out of cash. Before speeding away from the sight, the robbers made sure they changed Thakur's shirt as he had started bleeding profusely by then.
Later, they dumped him on a deserted stretch of Anekal Road. Thakur managed to somehow reach home from where he was rushed to the hospital by his neighbours.
“We’ve collected CCTV footage from the ATM kiosk and have clues about the gang. We will nab them soon," an investigating officer presiding over the case said.
Police recorded Thakur's statement on Thursday. A case was registered under IPC section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) after the hospital filed a medico-legal case....
