Chennai: Passenger held for kissing woman airlines staffer
Chennai: The airport police arrested a 34-year-old passenger from Cuddalore for kissing a woman private airlines staffer at Chennai international airport on Friday night. The Dubai -bound passenger was offloaded and handed over to the police.
According to police, the accused Mohammed Sherif( 34) supervisor at a private company in Dubai, originally from Panruti in Cuddalore arrived at Chennai international airport on Friday evening to board a private flight to Dubai.
Sources said at around 7 pm Mohammed was waiting in the queue along with the other air passengers to receive his boarding pass from the counter. Police said a 23-year-old woman employee of the private airlines was giving boarding pass.
Police said when the girl gave him the pass, he allegedly held her right hand tight and started kissing her hand. The girl, however, managed to pull her hand back and informed the airline's authority. Mohammed, however, fled the spot.
After the complaint by the girl, the Chennai airport authority was informed and the CCTV footage at the boarding pass counter was checked. The video showed the man kissing her hand twice before fleeing the spot. The man was nabbed from the domestic terminal of the airport later. Based on the complaint by the private airlines, A case had been lodged with the airport police.
The airport police filed a case under IPC 4b and remanded him under judicial custody.
