Hyderabad: Siblings dispute leads to murder of elder one

The brothers apparently had disputes in the past too.

Hyderabad: A dispute between two brothers over earnings from crop and land belonging to the family led to the murder of the elder one at Tekulakode village under Kodangal Police station limits. B. Rajeshwar Reddy, along with an associate, stabbed his brother B. Narender Reddy (24) and shot him with a country made firearm. Vikarabad Police on Thursday arrested Rajeshwar (22) and his associate U. Lakshman (23).

The SP of Vikarabad, T. Annapurna, said during a press meet that the brothers had past disputes over property and earnings from it. Narender had eloped with a woman before marriage but his family members brought him back and got him married to another woman from the same community. Moreover, though married for three years, Narender had no children, due to which Rajeshwar wanted to inherit the whole property.

Sharing more details, the SP said that from the time Narender got married, he had been demanding that his mother Padmamma share the property among the brothers, but she agreed to share it only after the younger brother got married. Narender and his wife Lakshmi went to Bengaluru in search of livelihood, after which Rajeshwar started cultivating the 20 acre agricultural land owned by the family. Narender came to know of this and demanded his share of the crop cultivated by Rajeshwar following which a dispute arose between the brothers. Narender also beat his mother which made Rajeshwar very angry. He hatched a plan to kill Narender and sought his friend Lakshman's help. He gave him '45,000 for purchasing a firearm and 20 rounds of ammunition and sent him to Jaipur.

As per the plan, he asked Lakshman to bring Narender to the outskirts of the village for discussing the land related issues. While discussing the issues over drinks, Rajeshwar and Lakshman stabbed Narender with a knife and Rajeshwar shot in him in the stomach four times, killing him on the spot.

“They then put his body in a car, drove to a village in Karnataka, poured diesel on the car, set it on fire and returned. A ‘missing person’ case was registered on May 11. Based on clues and other evidences, the duo were arrested and sent to remand on Thursday. One .32mm revolver, eight live rounds and 12 used rounds of ammunition were also seized from their possession.” said the SP.
