Hyderabad: Cricket coach booked for sexually abusing boys
Hyderabad: A 32-year-old cricket coach has been arrested by Chandanagar police for allegedly sexually harassing boys who would come for coaching at the PJR stadium in Hyderabad.
Salam Bin, a native of Barkas in the Old City, had been working as a cricket coach at PJR Stadium in Chandanagar. More than 100 boys under 16 years of age were being coached by him. Since summer holidays are going on, the coaching camp is conducted from 5.30 am till 8pm every day.
“During breaks, he would take one of the boys and force him to have intercourse. If he resisted, Salam would back off and request him not to reveal it to anyone,” said Chandanagar inspector N. Tirupathi Rao.
Salam sexually exploited many boys in this fashion in the last year. Six boys have approached the police till date. The latest incident had taken place three months ago, when Salam harassed a 16-year-old boy. His parents came to know of the incident on Tuesday.
