Bengaluru: Cylinder blast in hotel leaves two injured
Bengaluru: Two people, including a minor girl, had a narrow escape after an LPG cylinder blast at a kebab outlet on Cole’s Road in Pulakeshinagar police limits on Tuesday. Police said the incident happened around 8 am and the outlet, Chicken Kebab Centre, had not yet opened and the street was deserted.
One of the injured, Sayyed Ahmed, is an auto driver and a resident of R.T. Nagar. At the time of explosion, he was passing by the area. Because of the impact, the shutters of the shop flew into the air and hit the auto. The vehicle toppled and Ahmed was injured.
A minor girl, who was walking her dog, too had a miraculous escape and was saved by a whisker. Fire and emergency officials said a call was made to the control room around 8 am and a fire tender was rushed to the spot. An LPG cylinder, which was kept inside the shop, had developed a leak, which caused the explosion. The police rushed to the spot and shifted Sayyed to a nearby hospital.
