Hyderabad: A father allegedly killed his two children and injured another on Tuesday late night, after his wife deserted him a month ago as he was addicted to alcohol and used to physically harass her. Cyberabad Additional DCP, Crime and other police officials rushed to the spot and the clues team collected the evidence and took the suspect into their custody.
The accused has been identified as E. Kumar, a daily wage worker. The deceased were identified his son Akhil, 7, daughter Sharanya, 4, while his 10-year-old elder daughter Malleswari escaped with injuries. The accused used to suspect his wife’s fidelity and used to harass her saying that the children were not his.
The incident took place in Ramachandrapuram police station limits Bombay colony. Police said, the accused was in an inebriated condition when he attacked his children. The couple had a fight, following which his wife abandoned him and went to her mother’s home a month ago. As she was refusing to come back, the accused bore a grudge against her. He used to threaten relatives and his wife saying that if she did not come back and look after the children, he would kill them.
Swarupa the accused’s elder sister said, “Kumar tried to kill them once a week ago. We stopped him and gave a warning not to harm the children. We thought he would listen. We never expected that he would kill them.”
On Tuesday night while the children were at their grandmother’s home, the accused killed his son by slitting his throat with a knife and his daughter by strangulation, police said. When he attacked his elder daughter, she escaped from his clutches and rushed to her grandmother and alerted her about the heinous crime.
