Hyderabad: Three quacks have been arrested from Surya Hospital in Madhapuram village of Thurkapally as they were indulging in sex determination tests of pregnant women.
The task force of Rachakonda police found P Narsing Rao, P Sudhakar and nurse Dheer V Soniya indulging in prenatal sex determination for pregnant women. Two decoy women police constables Jaya and Aruna Reddy were posed to check what is happening inside the centre.
They found that the female sex is being revealed hence the raids were carried out. Additional deputy commissioner of police Syed Rafeeq stated that they found prescription slips, decoy money of Rs 16,000 and other cash of Rs 54,000 at the unit. They have also seized the scanner, printer, monitor and other medical equipments. A Hyundai Verna car has also been seized.
The police state that the raid was conducted to prevent female foeticides as a legal and social responsibility from Rachakonda police.
