Hyderabad: Divorcee fudges papers for assets

Abu Baker Bin Ahmed in his complaint stated that his marriage with Mumtaz was dissolved in the year 2011.

Hyderabad: Rahamath Nagar corporator Mohammed Abdul Shafi belonging to the ruling TRS party, his sister Mumtaz Begum and other family members were booked for cheating, forgery and fraud at SR Nagar Police station. According to the police, Shafi in connivance with his sister Mumtaz Begum had allegedly created a forged ration card of Mumtaz's ex-husband, Abu Baker Bin Ahmed, despite the fact that the couple were divorced.

Mumtaz Begum’s ex-husband Ahmed said that she had approached the court seeking possession of a property owned by him and to prove to the court that she was his wife, she forged his ration card and produced it before the court.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shafi told the police that he had no role to play in the feud between his sister and her ex-husband.

“Without verifying the facts, police have booked cases against me. This is the second time that a case has been booked against me though I am not involved in any way in the incidents,” said Mr. Shafi.

Abu Baker Bin Ahmed in his complaint stated that his marriage with Mumtaz was dissolved in the year 2011. Mumtaz later filed a civil suit before the court to claim a property owned by him.
