Hyderabad: Minor's mom seeks NGO help

Boy's mother for probe into police conduct.

Hyderabad: Ten days after a TV anchor filed a complaint with Sanathnagar police, the 13-year-old minor’s mother approached the Balala Hakkula Sangham demanding an inquiry against the police for booking a case against her son and her 75-year-old mother. “Our NGO strongly condemns the police for registering a case against a minor boy alleging criminal intimidation, outraging the modesty of a woman, intentional breach of peace and insult which are impossible with minor children,” said Balala Hakkula Sangham president Anuradha Rao.

The child’s mother, Seetha, who is an advocate, said that her husband Madhukar is having an extramarital relationship with the TV anchor, Geetha Bhagath, and was harassing her and her children. Television anchor Geeta Bhagath lodged a complaint with Sanathnagar police against a minor boy and his 75-year-old grandmother. The TV anchor stated that the 13-year-old boy and his grandmother had abused her verbally several times. The Sanathnagar police booked a case under Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) against the minor and his grandmother.
