Hyderabad: A 36-year-old gym owner was killed in an accident on Saturday night in Uppal. Police said that the mishap occurred when a Water Board tanker hit the two-wheeler that C. Eswar was riding and ran over him.
Uppal police said Eswar, a resident of Kurmaguda in Saidabad, owned the gym at Boduppal. On Saturday night, he was returning home after closing the gym.
“When he reached the Shantinagar bus stop area, a Water Board tanker hit him. He fell down and came under the rear wheel of the tanker.” a police official said.
Eswar’s helmet broke and the tanker ran over him, killing him on he spot. The tanker driver fled from the spot.
Police has registered a case of death due to negligence and is searching for the driver.
