Hyderabad: A teacher working with the Kendriya Vidyalaya school at Golconda was killed in an accident on Wednesday. The incident happened when the teacher, Tanima Mukherjee, hailing from Kolkata, was standing by the roadside. A speeding car hit an autorickshaw and it hit her.
Police said that Tanima Mukherjee was transferred to the Kendriya Vidyalaya’s Golconda branch three years ago. She and her son Adhib Mukherjee, a paramedic at Kims Hospital, were staying at Begumpet.
On Wednesday, at around 3.45 pm, she got down from a bus at the bus stop and was walking home. On the way she stood for sometime by the roadside near the IBP petrol pump.
Meanwhile, a speeding car going towards Secunderabad came and hit an autorickshaw. “The autorickshaw hit her and she fell down injuring her head,” Begumpet SI D. Krishnaiah said.
Tanima died on the spot. A case of accidental death was registered and the body was handed over to relatives after postmortem. The car driver was caught and the car seized....
