Karimnagar: Cops search for missing person, find three bodies in sunken car
Karimnagar: Even as there is a sense of despair after a car fell under the Manair bridge and killed two people on Sunday, a search for a woman who fell in Kakatiya canal led to the recovery of a car that had sunk there and had three bodies in it.
Authorities were searching for the body of a woman who fell in the canal accidentally while going on a bike with her husband at Alaganur of Thimmapur mandal in Karimnagar district on Monday.
Hyderabad resident P. Venkatanarayana Pradeep came to Karim-nagar along with his wife Keerthana to attend a function on Saturday. The couple decided to offer prayers at the Sri Tapala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple situated in LMD Colony of Thimmapur mandal on Sunday. Their motorcycle accidentally fell in Kakatiya canal at Alaganur.
LMD police officials Satyanarayana and Srinivas, who were on patrol, heard their screams for help. Along with locals, they rescued Pradeep, who told them his wife was in the water. Authorities stopped the water flow into the canal and conducted rescue operations to search for Keerthana, 27. Her body was after some hours of vigorous search.
Meanwhile, when the water flow stopped, the police noticed a car on Monday. Under the supervision of IPS trainee Nithika Pant, the car was retrieved and brought to the surface.
