Kerala: Woman who beat mom-in-law missing
ALAPPUZHA: Even after four days, the Haripad police is still groping in the dark about the assault on a 75-year-old woman by daughter-in-law in Danapady here. Sub-inspector S. S. Baiju said Babitha Babu, 40, booked under non-bailable 323, 324 and 326 sections of IPC, was still at large. "We are now tracking her phone calls with the help of cyber cell. The phone calls of all her relatives are now under the scanner,’’ he said.
On January 12, Gowrikkutty Ammal of Bibin Bhavanam, was admitted to Medical College Hospital here with severe injuries, with her left hand both legs fractured. She got discharged since and now her daughter Nirmala is taking care of her. Gowri is the mother of four including two daughters and two sons. Her husband Kuttappan Achary died 13 years ago, and she was living with elder son Babu at her ancestral home. Babu is working in the Gulf and she was residing with his wife and son Bibin, 20.
