Hyderabad police arrests 4 in passport fraud case
Hyderabad: Three weeks after the arrest of gangster Ayub Khan, south zone police arrested four people including an advocate, in connection with the fake passport obtained by the gangster. The involvement of an SB cop is also being probed.
The agents created fake documents for the gangster after taking money from him. He used the passport to fly to Dubai and back several times.
Ayub Khan took the service of the accused while he was in jail and got the passport by the time he came out.
Police arrested Mohd Khaleel Ahmed, 38, a passport agent from Nampally, Qazi Syed Muqthadir Ali Quadri, 67, Mohd Naseeruddin, 44, and Pottem Ravindra-nath, 60, an advocate.
Police said the agents prepared an ID card, ration card, nikahnama and other proofs for Ayub Khan in a different name. They also got it notarised by the advocate. Ayub paid around Rs 1 lakh for the passport.
Police said that Ayub Khan got a fake nikahnama to match his new passport and got a visa for his wife too. They were planning to permanently move to Duba.
Using the fake passport, Ayub Khan visited India six times secretly. He used to travel from the airports in Mumbai, Kolkata and Nagpur.
“He avoided Hyderabad airport. He visited UAE, Thailand, Maldives and Saudi Arabia using the passport,” said a senior official.
