Hyderabad: The Balanagar special operation team and Jeedimetla police arrested two persons, Bablu Khare alias Krishna, 27, and Govind Patidar, for smuggling ganja from Rajahmundry to Maharashtra and recovered 400 kg of the narcotic worth Rs.1 crore from them.
Police stopped the truck on specific information and found the narcotic packed in 40 bundles in the vehicle, Balanagar DCP T. Srinivas said. He said the duo was hired by one Babu to transport the ganja to one Aravind of Latur. Babu and Latur are absconding.
2 women held with 42 kg ganja
Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri district special task force during a raid in Cherlapally industrial area arrested Amrita Kumari, 23, of Delhi and Manju Sharma, 32, of Muzaffarnagar, Bihar and 42 kg ganja seized from their possession on Saturday. Malkajgiri STF superintendent Arun Kumar and Ghatkesar excise staff jointly conducted the raid. The women were found carrying found 21 two-kg packets of dry ganja. The duo said they had procured the contraband from Visakhapatnam for sale locally.
