Chided by mom for poor results, girl dies by suicide

Hyderabad: A student studying degree, after being scolded by her mother for scoring low marks in her semester exams, died by suicide in Neredmet.

The 19-year-old girl, after a heated argument with her mother for scoring low marks in the semester exams, latched her bedroom door and died by suicide on Friday afternoon, Neredmet police said.

Police said that the girl was warned by her mother to focus on her studies instead of wasting time watching television.

The police registered a case of suspicious death under 174 CrPC and shifted the victim's body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
