Hyderabad: Baby treated by ayurved' dies
Hyderabad: A doctor who claims to be an Ayurved has been accused of negligence that resulted in the death of a four-month-old baby boy while under his treatment in Bhongir on Friday.
The child was being treated for pneumonia for the past few days. Parents and relatives of the child assaulted the doctor and handed him over to the police which is investigating the matter.
Mohammed Basheeruddin, 45, a resident of Bhongir, runs the Sheema Poly Clinic. The board at the clinic says ‘Dr Md Basheeruddin BSc and BAMS from Osmania and children specialist.’
Basheeruddin had been treating Banu since he was born as he was sick. The baby recovered. But, for the past four days, he had high fever and was again brought to Dr Basheeruddin, who diagnosed pneumonia and started treatment. Since he only had an out-patient facility, the parents would come every day and return home in the evening. On Friday morning, when the doctor was checking the baby, the child fell unconscious and was later found dead. The shocked parents informed their relatives who rushed to the clinic and damaged furniture and assaulted Basheeruddin.
