Kurnool: Friends clash over Rs 10 loan

KURNOOL: Misunderstanding over a loan of Rs 10 ended on a bloody note when two tipplers clashed at a government-owned wine shop at Sunnipenta on Friday.

Trouble started when autorickshaw drivers Mou-lali, a local, and Siva, his friend from Srisailam, were consuming liquor. Moulali sought a loan of Rs 10. After turning him down, Siva abused Moulali, his mother and sister.

In a fit of rage, Moulali broke a beer bottle and tried to slit Siva’s throat with it.

According to the DSP, Moulali sustained injuries and was rushed to Marka-puram for immediate treatment and subsequently shifted to Kurnool Government General Hospital which has better facilities.

The DSP said that people were buying liquor from the shops and consuming it at a distance. He added that there was constant police vigil near all wine shops. An attempt to murder case has been booked.
