Hyderabad: Man murders friend's son to take revenge
Hyderabad: A man killed a child after the latter's father refused to help the former to get married to his relative. The accused, Rathul Saikia, 23, a security guard at a private engineering college in Moinabad, lured the infant Aditya with chocolates and killed him.
Saikia, a native of Assam, had been staying in the house of Aditya’s father Manish Prithy at Aziznagar in Moinabad. The murder came to light on Monday when the baby’s body was found dumped in the bushes.
Prithy came to Moinabad from Jharkhand about a year ago with his wife Sindhu Devi, their son Aditya and his wife’s cousin, looking for work. He joined as a security guard at an international school in Moinabad, where he met Rathul Saikia and became friends with him. A few days ago, Rathul expressed his interest in marrying Sindhu Devi’s cousin but Manish rejected the alliance proposal.
On Saturday evening, Saikia and Prithy went to Bandlaguda on some work and returned home drunk. Saikia who found Aditya playing in the house, took him out on the pretext of buying him biscuits and chocolates and killed the child.
“Rathul who was drunk took the boy to an isolated area and hit him with a stone. Then he took the injured boy to a bushy area in Aziznagar and beat him to death. He abandoned the body in the bushes,” said Moinabad inspector G. Venkateshwarlu. Saikia was taken into custody and during questioning, confessed to killing the boy to take revenge against his friend’s family for not accepting his marriage proposal, the inspector said, adding that the accused has been charged with murder.
