Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh police have arrested a man who stuffed her daughter’s dead body in a gunny bag, filled it with stones and threw it in Narmada river after she committed suicide.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the incident took place in Chargawan village of Jabalpur district on September 13. The accused, identified as Ajay Singh Lodhi, arrived home in a drunken state and beat up his wife and daughter.
The daughter, purportedly hurt by the incident, hanged herself on the same day. The truth came to the fore after Lodhi lodged a missing person’s complaint with the police in an attempt to cover up his tracks.
Police grew suspicious when Lodhi and his family members changed statements and further interrogated the father, who eventually confessed to dumping his daughter’s body in the river and his family assisted him.
