Hyderabad: SHE Teams Cyberabad received 78 complaints from women victims through different means in the first fortnight of August. According to the SHE Teams, they have acted on all the complaints. Twenty seven cases have been registered out of which 15 are criminal cases and 12 petty cases.
A total of 79 decoy operations were conducted at various places in the city such as bus stops, shopping malls, railway stations, tutorials and colleges. The teams also conducted 33 awareness programmes.
In one case, a person misbehaved with a girl student while she was shopping at a mall in Kukatpally. A salesman draped a dress on her intentionally and misbehaved with her by touching her inappropriately.
The police has registered a case against him under Section 354 IPC and remanded him.
In an another incident, SHE Teams received a petition through whatsapp from a woman stating that for the last few days some unknown persons were calling her continuously in her mobile number from different mobile numbers and talking in abusive language.
The woman informed the police personnel that the callers were asking her what rate for an hour and saying that they will also use her daughter.
On inquiry, the She team found out that it was her nephew, aged 17 years, who has responsible. for the obscene calls The police has booked a case against him.
