Hyderabad: Techie arrested for mowing down migrants
Hyderabad: The 27-year-old software engineer and his friend, hailing from Nalgonda district have been arrested for mowing two migrants in drunk condition. The drunk techie failed to control the car and rammed into a roadside tent erected by the migrants from Rajasthan, who were selling textiles in Vanasthalipuram.
Pulichintala Bhavya Teja Reddy, 27, and his friend Mohammed Rahim, 24, a driver by profession, consumed alcohol at VMR Grand Bar and Restaurant in Vanasthalipuram till late in the night on August 14.
They started towards Hayathnagar in the SUV (TS 08 EH 9995) in an inebriated state. Reddy was behind the wheels while Rahim occupied the passenger seat.
When the car rammed into the tent, Bhavya Singh, 34, died on the spot. His associate Eswar Lal, 30, died while undergoing treatment in a hospital. Two others Mansingh and Ramsingh sustained injuries.
Vanasthalipuram police on Thursday said that CCTV grabs of the duo consuming alcohol till late at the bar were recovered towards the evidence. “A case has been booked against the due under Sections 304 – II, 337, 109 r/w 34 and 185 of MV Act,” said ACP Y. Narsimha Reddy.
