Tamil Nadu: Class 10 boy on kissing spree caught red-handed
Chennai: A teenaged boy had been giving sleepless nights to parents of minor girls in East Tambaram and Selaiyur for the last three weeks as he went on a kissing spree, sometimes to the extent that the girls suffered bleeding injuries on their lips.
He was caught on Sunday evening by a woman sub inspector in East Tambaram when he was rushing out after trying to kiss a minor girl in the house. As soon as the alert SI overpowered him, the entire neighbourhood had gathered there and started beating up the boy.
The police official somehow stopped the angry mob and took the boy to a nearby hospital and also alerted the Selaiyur police. According to local residents, the boy, a Class-X student of a government school in Chitlapakkam, had been caught on CCTV footage earlier but they could not trace him.
Local residents had even formed a neighbourhood watch team to nab the suspect who had been troubling young girls in the locality. When they came to know he was admitted to hospital, more people from the neighbourhood reached the hospital to have a look at him.
Selaiyur police had to strongly remind them that people cannot take the law into their own hands when it comes to dealing with the offender, who in this case is also a minor. After giving him first aid, the police took him to an undisclosed location.
