Women gangraped again by same culprits after 3 years, left to die in bushes
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a second-year Dalit college student hailing from Haryana’s Rohtak district was forced to relive her worst nightmare once again, when she was gangraped for a second time in three years by the same group of five men and was left to die in the bushes.
The five men were out on bail for raping the same girl in 2013.
According to reports, the men, all upper caste, pursued the girl and her family to settle the matter out of court for a payment of Rs 50 lakh. But when they were refused, the men kidnapped the girl on her way back home from college, drugged her, and raped her a second time as ‘punishment’.
"I came out of college and there were those very five men in the car. Three were inside and two of them were outside," she said.
The girl and her family shifted from Bhiwani to Rohtak after incessant pressure from the men and their family to withdraw the case.
“We used to live in Bhiwani before. After the incident we fled to Rohtak to save ourselves from these men. I wanted to educate my children," said the girl’s mother, demanding that the culprits be brought to books at the earliest.
The survivor is currently lodged in a government hospital in Rohtak.
