Hyderabad: The family is unable to fathom the sudden turn of events and the phone call they received, informing them of the murder of their children.
Talking to this newspaper, Srinivas Reddy, the father said that Mallikarjun was nice to his children and the twins often went out with him for short durations. “On Friday, when he insisted to take them out for a swim, we did not suspect anything,” he said.
Sources have revealed that the parents are hesitating to take the case forward and are trying to hush up the case due to family ties as they are not able to understand the context behind the action.
“Any parent should not object the investigation of their child’s death. If the parent’s role is established in anyway, they will also be questioned,” said M. Venkateshwar Rao, DCP, LB Nagar.
However, according to Achyutha Rao, a child rights activist, the parents should not have allowed the differently-abled children to go out with anyone. He is also demanding that a case be registered against the mother and father, naming them as ‘co-accused’ in the murder. He claims that the parents were aware of the plot.
