Corporator tries to avoid drunk drive test
Hyderabad: A heated argument ensued on Friday night when the local corporator of Moosapet questioned the traffic officials after he was asked to take a drunken driving check at Moosapet Chaurastha on Friday.
The Moosapet corporator Thumu Sravankumar said that he does not drink and tried using his influence by saying that he is the corporator of that area.
N. Ashok Kumar, traffic inspector from Balanagar traffic police station said, “Our officials were conducting routine drunken drive checks when the corporator came on a two-wheeler. He told the constable that he is the corporator of that area but our personnel informed him that no matter who he is, he has to go through the checks. He accepted, took the test and was let off as he was not drunk.”
Mr Sravankumar told this newspaper, “I was just asking the constable whether he knows who I am and that I don’t drink. But the constable was a bit rude with me. But the argument was sorted out after I took the test.”
