3 held for burglary, other crimes in Chennai

A couple of days ago, a chain snatching complaint was registered at St Thomas Mount police station.

Chennai: City police arrested three men involved in burglary at Adambakkam, last month and several other crimes. On May 21 at Adambakkam, Gills Jose (28) working as a customs officer registered a complaint at the St Thomas Mount police station stating that his house has been burgled. The police had then inspected CCTV cameras.

A couple of days ago, a chain snatching complaint was registered at St Thomas Mount police station. On examining the CCTV camera footage, it was found that two bike-clad men snatched the women’s chain and one of their faces matched with the accused in Adambakkam house burglary.

A special team was formed to nab the suspects and continuous vehicle checks were conducted. During one of the checks, G Dinesh (24) alias Otta Dinesh hailing from Urapakkam was nabbed. On his confessions, two other men, identified as Martin Raj (25) and Ramakrishnan (38), who happen to be the accomplices of Dinesh in several other crimes that happened in the city.

While arresting Ramakrishnan, a country made hand gun was seized. Other items seized include a bike, camera, laptop and three mobile phones. Preliminary investigations revealed that Ramakrishnan is elder brother of another history sheeter, Radhakrishnan of Arumbakkam.

There are speculations that the trio was plotting murder of rowdy, Dakshinamurthy of TP Chatram. Further investigations are on to find out if there is a larger gang accompanying the trio.
