Karnataka: ACB raids 8 government officials

The search operations were launched on Friday morning simultaneously at several places and continued till late evening.

Bengaluru: The sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous raids on the offices and residences of eight government officials across the state on Friday. Disproportionate assets worth several crores were unearthed during the raids.

The search operations were launched on Friday morning simultaneously at several places and continued till late evening. The premises belonging to the following officials were raided – K. T. Halaswami, Deputy Commissioner, Transport & Senior Regional Transport Officer, K.R. Puram & in charge Joint Commissioner, Transport department – Dr. S. M. V. Kumaragowda, Principal, District Training Centre, Health & Family Welfare department, Kolar –Venkataramanappa, Senior Hostel Warden, Govt PU Students Boys’ Hostel, Social Welfare department, Chikkaballapura – Vijay Kumar M Gudigeri, Revenue Inspector, Shiggaon Circle, Haveri – Basavaraj Rudrappa Goudoor, AEE, Panchayat Raj department, Raichur – Bannappa Komar, Assistant Engineer, Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd., Khanapur, Yagadiri – Sahadev Bheemarao Mankare, Executive Engineer, GESCOM, Kalaburagi – and S. P. Thippareddy, Assistant Engineer, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited, Directorate of Land Army, Chikkamagaluru.

During the raids, the ACB officials found documents related to residential and agricultural lands, residential buildings, gold, luxury vehicles, documents related to insurance and fixed deposits. The officials have continued scrutinising the seized documents.
