Chennai: Ex-GM of NLC gets 2 years RI in disproportionate asset case
Chennai: A special court for CBI Cases, Chennai convicted a former General Manager of Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Neyveli in a disproportionate asset case registered by CBI and sentenced him to undergo two years RI.
The Anti Corruption Branch of CBI, Chennai registered and investigated a case in 2010 against P.S.Kirupanandhan, General Manager, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Neyveli on the allegation that he acquired wealth to the tune of Rs 39.48 lakh, which was disproportionate to the known sources of his income.
After completion of investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet against him before the special court, under sections 13(1)(e) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
On completion of trial, the VIII special judge for CBI cases, Neelakanta Prasad has convicted P.S.Kirupanandhan and sentenced him to undergo RI for two years. The judge also imposed him a fine of Rs 25,000.
