Financial row: Security guard kills friend's wife in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A security guard murdered his friend's wife over a debt of Rs 8,000 debt, when she asked him to return the money. The accused then buried the body in a vacant site and the police exhumed it on Tuesday.
The incident took place on May 4 in Sompura in Sarjapur police station limits on the city outskirts. The accused, Tilak, 26, murdered Pavitra, 21, wife of Karun. All of them hailed from Nepal and both Tilak and Karun were working as security guards at different apartments.
According to the police, Tilak had reportedly borrowed Rs 8,000 from Karun a few months ago. On May 4, Karun's wife went to the apartment where Tilak worked to get the money, but she failed to return. When Karun tried to get in touch with Tilak, he was not reachable and was absconding. Later, he had filed a missing person's complaint with the police.
"As Tilak had gone absconding, we suspected his role in this case. He was traced and arrested from one of his friend's house. When thoroughly grilled, he confessed that he had murdered Pavitra. He revealed that when Pavitra came to collect the money, there was an altercation and in a fit of rage he hit her with a stone. She died on the spot and he buried the body at a vacant site nearby and escaped, police said.
Based on his information, the police exhumed the body on Tuesday and sent it for post-mortem.
