Bengaluru: A 29-year-old provision shop owner was arrested by the Hanumanthnagar police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl after luring her with chocolates. The accused is as Nataraj alias Raju.
The victim had gone to Nataraj’s shop on Sunday evening to purchase something. As she was the only customer at that time, Nataraj offered her chocolates and took her with him. On the pretext of giving more chocolates, the accused allegedly raped her and fled.
The victim went home and complained of severe stomach ache and vaginal bleeding. Her mother took her to Victoria Hospital where she learnt that her daughter has been raped. The victim then narrated the incident to her mother, who later approached police and registered a complaint.
Nataraj, who was absconding, was arrested by the police and booked under POCSO Act
Woman promised job, raped
A 24-year-old Mumbai based woman, who had come to the city in search of a job, was lured by two men who later allegedly raped her. The alleged incident took place in Bellandur police limits on Sunday evening.
The police have arrested Joshi, 59, and Narendra Babu, 54, both businessmen and residents of Haraluru Road.
According to the police, the woman had come to the city in search of a job about 20 days ago. She met the accused during her morning walks. She had shared with them that she was searching for a job and wanted to work in star hotels.
The duo assured her that they had contacts and would get her a job. On the pretext of discussing the same, Joshi invited her to his house on Sunday evening. When the woman went there, the duo allegedly raped her.
“The woman had filed a complaint the same night, but the accused were arrested on Monday. We are further investigating the case from all angles," the Bellandur police added.
5-yr-old molested
In JJ Nagar police station, a 19-year-old was arrested for molesting a 5-year-old girl. The police said that on Monday night, the victim was playing in her house in V.S. Garden. The accused, Vamsi, who is known to the victim and her family, visited the house and took her along with him to his house. Vamsi molested the victim and frightened her to silence. However, the victim told her mother about the incident and on the same day a complaint was filed against Vamsi, the police said. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested him.
