Hyderabad: No lead in Bandaru Dattatreya's stolen phone case

On Sunday morning, the minister's Grey colour mobile Samsung J7 phone was stolen from his residence.

Hyderabad: A day after Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya’s official mobile phone was stolen from his residence, police said they could not track the mobile as it was switched off.

After the minister’s Samsung phone was stolen from his Ramnagar residence on Sunday morning, police collected clues and launched an investigation. The dysfunctional CCTV cameras at the minister's residence also delayed tracking the thief.

The CCTV footage collected from Srinivasa Textiles, located opposite the minister's residence also did not help the police. However, the SIM card was not blocked. Sources close to the minister said that they did not block the SIM as that would make the job of tracking the mobile phone difficult.

Meanwhile, Musheerabad police investigating the case said the investigation is going on. “There are no leads so far. We are investigating the case,” central zone DCP V.B. Kamalasan Reddy said.

On Sunday morning, the minister’s Grey colour mobile Samsung J7 phone was stolen from his residence. The minister was in the house and there were around 30 visitors. The phone kept ringing immediately after the assistants found it missing and called it but no one answered the call. After a few minutes, the phone was switched off.
