Hyderabad: Forensics nails man for killing his own baby girl

Bandaru Parasuramaulu confessed to cops that he had mixed a pesticide in the syrup which he gave to the child.

Hyderabad: Forensic report helped police in Nalgonda district solve a 13-month-old murder case of a 36 day old female child, leading to the arrest of the child's father Bandaru Parasuramaulu. He confessed to cops that he had mixed a pesticide in the syrup which he purchased for the child. Since the girl was a second daughter, he developed a hatred towards her, leading to her death. According to Police, Parasuramulu's wife delivered their second daughter in the month of February 2017. From the time of birth, he was angry on the woman and the child and expressed it often.

In the month of March, the girl developed health complications due to cold and was treated by a local RMP doctor in their village Ismailpally under Kattangur mandal. After the syrup prescribed the doctor, was finished Padma asked him to purchase another bottle.Inspector Narketpally Rural Castro Reddy said that he purchased the syrup from a medical shop at Narketpally town and came home. Padma gave the syrup to the child, after which the child developed vomitings and became severely ill. She was rushed to a private hospital and then to Niloufer hospital in the city, where she succumbed two days later.

The family members expressed suspicion on the syrup bottle alleging that it was faulty or adulterated. The bottle was seized and sent for forensic analysis. Meanwhile, the autopsy report also confirmed that the child died of pesticide poisoning. The case was altered to murder case. The report from the FSL arrived recently also confirmed that the syrup bottle had Organophosphate poison in the form of a pesticide. With these evidences and the statements of the family members, Parasuramulu was detained and on inquiry he confessed of killing his own child, as his financial conditions were not supporting to bring up a second girl. He was arrested and produced before the court." Mr Castro said.
