Two dozen gangs active in UP, Rajasthan, Haryana

The special team collected local intelligence without the help of police and then raided their hideouts.

Hyderabad: It took the Detective Department six months to crack one case and bust a gang. Investigation officials say their research showed 25 more gangs with around 100 members sheltering in the villages of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.

When Hyderabad cops received multiple complaints from victims, a special team was formed to track the suspects. During the probe, the investigation team went to UP and Rajasthan, but it was not easy to track them down.

“UP police and Rajasthan police were unaware of the hideouts. It seemed like they never put in efforts to hunt down these offenders," said a senior official from CCS. “Our special team identified 25 gangs, about 100 offenders spread over 35 villages in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana states. Almost all the gangsters have country-made firearms,” the official said.

The special team collected local intelligence without the help of police and then raided their hideouts. Eventually on April 10, they arrested six members of the gang and brought them to Hyderabad.
